Duncan Galloway the voice of Swing

Duncan originally trained as an actor at the prestigious Webber Douglas academy of dramatic Art in London. His association with the Pasadena Roof Orchestra started in 1989. His vocal talents have taken him around the world from Shanghai to Sydney, from Los Angeles to Madrid. He has even sung at a private event for the royal household palace Duncan Galloway - success around the world Appearing in London, Hamburg, Berlin, Paris, Brussels New York Los Angeles Sun City Arizona Chicago, Miami ,Abu Dhabi, Hong Kong Dubai,........ Venues such as Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Berlin Philharmonie, Munich Philharmonie, Hamburg Musikhalle, Ambassadors Theatre Pasadena (USA).... Jazz Festivals: Cork (Eire) Haugesund (Norway) Pori Finland, Hay on Wye, Potsdam North Sea Jazz Festival Appearances in the USA and Europe, even before the Royal Family (Daily Telegraph- 'Queen Elizabeth is not displeased') ranked him as a major attraction on the big band and dance orchestra circuit. Music has always featured heavily in his career, from his first efforts in a school band, to success in touring musicals, such as Guys and Dolls and Hello Dolly. After a 10 week tour in the USA, reviewers compared him favourably to Bing Crosby, and commented that had an elegance to rival Fred Astaire. He has worked at every major Jazz festival in Europe, and has given interviews on numerous national radio and TV shows in English and German, he has also presented shows in French. He has sung live on German ZDF, The NDR Talkshow ,Austrian ORF, Spain TVel RAI Italy, and The Late Show in Ireland, also for the BBC, and appeared with Cilla Black on ITV's 'Surprise Surprise' As a singer Duncan is the Band leader and front man of the world famous Pasadena Roof Orchestra. He has also performed as a guest with Wil Saldens' Glenn Miller Orchestra, The Savoy Dance Orchestra as well as several other big bands. he was invited as a headline cabaret creating his own show on Cunards Queen Mary on its maiden call into Hamburg, as well as other luxury liners. Christmas 2008 saw him at Buckingham palace singing for the royal household. As an actor, Duncan has appeared in children's television with
the BBC in productions such as Bodger and Badger, Nitwits and Radio Roo. He also
had a season at the English
He hugely enjoyed combining the two disciplines working on BBC radio, collaborating with Chris Emmett, June Whitfield and Jeffrey Holland on a series called 'Pasadena Postcards', and with Vincent Brimble and Helena Breck for a similar radio series called Mystery at Moneychurch Hall. When not touring with the Pasadena Roof Orchestra he is available to perform with the Duncan Galloway Quintet (see CD and sounds) which is an all star line up, playing jazz standards. The pianist is Colin Good, Bryan Ferry's MD on the 'As Time Goes By' tour, Jerome Davies on Bass who has a host of credits including working at the Blue Note club in New York with Salena Jones. Robert Fowler, surely one of the most tasteful and lyrical tenor players in the country, and a certain John Watson an experienced drummer who plays alongside Duncan with the Pasadena Roof Orchestra. There is also a guest appearance on a few tracks of the legendary Tom Spats Langham. |
